Ipswich Fireworks

Autumn is always one of my favourite times of year! Everything looks pretty and there is always an excuse for a social event. Bonfire Night is always high up on my social agenda and we look to do something a little different every year. This year we decided to buy tickets for the big fireworks display in Christchurch Park Ipswich.

We were not really sure what to expect from such a big event, but wandered down to the park about 7.30 with our friends in preparation for the display. All I can say is wow! Yes wow to the volume of people in the park. It was crammed packed and really quite hard to get your bearings. It was very unclear as to where everything was.

From meandering around we located a fair ground to the left, a selection of eating stalls and the usual local radio stands. We decided the best plan however was to get to a good spot to see the actual fireworks. We were lucky enough to make it to a clearing so we had a good view between the trees.

The actual fireworks were pretty cool and I managed to capture a few shots above. The display last about 15 minutes and certainly worth the £6 entry fee we paid. I was frozen to the bone after standing around watching them though and quickly headed towards the hot doughnut truck! Any excuse hey!

We had a fun evening, but I am not sure if we would go to the park again - mainly just due to the lack of organisation and the sheer volume of people. Am thinking maybe a smaller more local display next year or a home firework party if we decide to get adventurous.
