Rays of Sunshine Beaming Down

The sun rays were out in force this weekend ~ beaming from the blue sky! Perfect weather for some early Mothers Day celebrations! With flowers at the ready we invited our parents round for a spot of lunch! Many of you giggled when I announced I had never made scrambled eggs until 2107, but I can add to that! This weekend was the first time I had ever cooked roast beef! I know right! I literally had no idea until the age of 35 how easy it is to cook beef! I was even more surprised when it turned out well!Such a relief to see happy faces around a dinner table!

With full bellies and the sun still shining we decided to make the most of the weather by venturing out for a stroll. We wandered down Cliff Lane to a little flower stall. Every day we drive past it and mutter that we should go and check it out. We often struggle to know what is best to buy though. With mothers and their knowledge in tow we went to inspect the produce. The stall was full of bloom - yellow mini tulips everywhere! We didn't end up buying anything (mainly as we failed to take any bags to carry the plants) but it's certainly worthwhile going to have a look. If you decide to buy something you place the money through the house owners letterbox. Really simple!

A wooded area at the bottom of Holywells Park allowed us to stroll down by the river and up into the main section of the park. I was gutted that the blossom wasn't out yet though! The smaller trees around Ipswich seem to be in full bloom, but the park was bleak blossom wise! I will have to return in a few weeks to capture the bursts of colour. Despite this the park still looked beautiful. It always does on a sunny day. The willow tree hanging over the river bank looks particularly radiant with the sun reflecting down on it. We will certainly be spending more time over here in the summer months. It's a perfect park for relaxing and was the perfect venue for a family adventure.
